Saturday Upstyles at Saiffa

May 2nd @ Saiffa, 13:00–17:00

The Upstyles concept includes all street dance styles, but floorwork is not allowed.

As a competition format, we’re trying something completely new this time:

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

The concept was created by @hugofmhey, and we named the battle “There Can Be Only One.”

The qualification round will be held in a 1vs1 battle format, from which the TOP 16 will advance. From that point on, we’ll take things in a new direction. The qualified dancers will be randomly divided into two crews of 8 dancers, who will battle each other, with only one crew advancing. In the next round, the advancing dancers will be randomly split into two groups of 4, who will battle each other, with only one group moving on. In the semifinals, two duos will be randomly formed, battling each other, and the winning pair will face off in a 1vs1 final battle.

The winner takes home a €100 cash prize. 🙌

Saiffa is the first dance school in Finland to start organizing school jams back in 2010 ✨ From the very beginning, the goal has been to strengthen the sense of community within the dance scene and to give everyone the opportunity to participate in battles. The most important thing is taking part, creating together, and of course—having fun! 🤩

Kisakonseptina tällä kertaa kokeilemme jotain aivan uutta!

Kisakonseptin on keksinyt @hugofmhey ja nimesimme kisan ”There can be only one” -nimikseksi. 

Karsintakierros tullaan toteuttamaan 1VS1-battlejen muodossa joista TOP16 siirtyy jatkoon, mutta tästä hetkestä eteenpäin viemme kisat uusille vesille. Jatkoon päässeet arvotaan kahteen eri 8 hengen crewiin, jotka battlaavat toisiaan ja vain toinen ryhmä siirtyy jatkoon. Seuraavalla kierroksella jatkoon päässeistä arvotaan kaksi 4 hengen ryhmää, jotka battlaavat toisiaan ja vain toinen ryhmä siirtyy jatkoon. Semifinaaleissa arvotaan 2 kahden hengen duoa jotka battlaavat toisiaan, joista voittajapari kohtaa toisensa finaalissa 1vs1 battlessa. 

Voittaja koppaa itselleen 100 € palkintorahaa. 🙌

Saiffa on ensimmäinen tanssikoulu Suomessa, joka alkoi järjestää koulujameja jo vuodesta 2010 ✨ Tavoitteena alusta alkaen on ollut lisätä tanssiskenen yhteisöllisyyttä ja antaa kaikille mahdollisuus osallistua kisoihin. Tärkeintä on mukanaolo ja yhdessä tekeminen sekä tietenkin hauskanpito! 🤩
